About juniper-space
Environmental consulting rooted in scientific rigour and practical experience, serving Bristol and the South West since 2011.
Founded on a Commitment to Genuine Change
juniper-space began when a group of environmental scientists grew frustrated with the gap between ambitious sustainability pledges and real-world outcomes. We saw organisations struggle to translate good intentions into measurable results, often lacking the specialist knowledge to identify where change would be most effective.
Our founding principle remains unchanged: every recommendation must be grounded in environmental science, financially viable, and practically achievable. We reject superficial greenwashing in favour of substantive improvements that organisations can genuinely implement and measure.
Based in Bristol, we've grown to serve businesses, councils and institutions across the South West, building long-term partnerships that deliver ongoing environmental benefits rather than one-off reports that gather dust.
What Guides Our Work
Scientific Integrity
Every assessment and recommendation is based on peer-reviewed research and established environmental methodologies. We present findings honestly, even when the data reveals uncomfortable truths that require difficult conversations.
Practical Focus
Theoretical perfection means little without implementation. We design solutions that work within real operational constraints, budgets and timelines. Progress matters more than perfection when the alternative is inaction.
Long-term Thinking
Environmental challenges require sustained effort over years, not quick fixes. We build relationships that allow us to support organisations through the full journey from initial assessment to embedded sustainable practice.
Environmental Specialists with Diverse Expertise
Our consultants bring backgrounds in ecology, environmental engineering, chemistry, urban planning and business management. This diversity allows us to approach sustainability challenges from multiple angles and develop solutions that address technical, regulatory and commercial considerations.
Several team members hold chartered status with the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment, and we maintain active connections with research institutions including the University of Bristol and the University of the West of England.

Measurable Environmental Outcomes
Numbers tell part of the story. Behind each statistic are organisations that have fundamentally changed how they operate.
